Supplies:

Whacker: A rope with a weight on the end. Some use a panty hose with an orange in the toe. We simply used a rope with a knot tied at the end threaded through the hole of a plastic game cone. Each rope should be long enough for a player will hold the rope over their shoulder so that the cone on the rope is hanging just off the floor.

Ball: We used a tennis ball.

How You Play:

This is perhaps one of the funniest relay races I have ever seen! Split your group into even teams (4-5 people works well). Each team will be provided with ball whacker.

Set floor markers 30-40 feet away from the starting line in front of each team. Each player will hold the rope of the whacker over their shoulder so that the cone on the rope is hanging just off the floor. The rope has to be hanging from their back. Place the waffle ball on the starting line and sound the whistle to begin.

Each player must move the whiffle ball down and around their teams cone and back to the starting line. This is achieved by swinging the cone on the rope into the whiffle ball. Only the cone on the rope may hit the ball. No hands or any other part of the body can be used to propel the whiffle ball. Once the ball is hit, the player moves to where it stops and tries to knock it again towards and around the cone. Once back at the starting line, they trade off to the next person on their team.
